The star has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to save the UK's independent concert spaces.
He was given the prize on October 16 as his new release his work was named the outstanding release of the past year.
The musician has opted to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the vital role grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.
"As an artist would not have achieved what I am doing today if it hadn't been for all the performances I played around the North East, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said the artist. "These locations are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these spaces have shut down – about one-sixth of the entire UK sector.
In the last year, top acts including Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by including a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which supports local stages.
Sam Fender also joined in, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous small stages across the UK.
The money assisted spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to issues caused by floods, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as permit problems, court cases and neighbor objections.
Additional spaces were granted financial assistance in modernizing facilities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted performers and audiences.
"The concept that money from shows in major spaces supports the local stages, where it kicks off for artists like me, is just sensible," Fender has commented.
He is far from the only musician to donate his award winnings to good deeds.
Back when they won the award in 1996 for their record the album, lead singer Cocker declared that the act would donate their winnings to the charity the charity.
In 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite shared her prize between several charities, including the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.
"And I contributed a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked better apparatus," Ms Dynamite shared with a publication.
Two years ago, the band donated their prize money to the youth organization that nurtured their group, as well as other local music groups.
And 1994 winners M People donated their prize to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was diagnosed the disease.
"Winning was sufficient," remarked artist Small. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't need the extra, because we had the main prize. So our victory affected another person's life."
In the past week, the trust revealed it had rescued a couple of grassroots venues in that region, by placing them under local control.
The first in that area and the second in that location were bought under the community ownership program, which is funded by the arts council and music fans who acquire "shares" in the venues.
